Abstract
1,157,619. Laminates. ENGELHARD INDUSTRIES Ltd. 13 Sept., 1966 [13 Sept., 1965], No. 22368/68. Divided out of 1,157,618. Heading B5N. A process for laminating a film of electrical resistance alloy to an electrically insulating base comprises forming a film of an alloy on a flexible temporary support comprised of a foil of metal different from the resistance alloy, coating the film and/or the base with adhesive, adhering the film to the base, and removing the temporary support. In the preferred embodiment, a tin/nickel alloy is electrodeposited on a copper foil, polyvinyl butyral is applied as adhesive to the alloy which is bonded under heat and pressure to a stack of phenolic resin impregnated papers, the copper foil being selectively removed by etching with aqueous ammonium persulphate solution.
