Abstract

1476767 Laminates of metal with polyamide fibre MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC WORKS Ltd 5 June 1974 [7 June 1973] 24821/74 Heading B5N A heat-radiating electrically-insulating plate comprises a metal plate heat-bonded to a metal foil by an intermediate polyamide fibrous sheet impregnated with an epoxy, polyimide, polyamide or polybenzimidazole resin, the metal plate having its surface activated for adhesion to the sheet. The plate and foil may be of aluminium or copper and the plate may be activated by NaOH solution, alkaline copper acetateammonium acetate solution or sand-blasting. The fibrous sheet may be a non-woven sheet or cloth. The assembled layers may be bonded in a hot plate press with post-curing if necessary.
