Abstract

A method of making corrugated paper board comprises the step of coating at least one surface of at least one ply with a liquid dispersion of an emulsified waterproofing formulation, e.g. wax and treating the applied coating so as to transform it into a continuous waterproof coating. In Fig. 1, a sheet 2 of paper is coated with a dispersion of emulsified wax by etched drum 4 and doctor blade 5, and passed to heated table 7 where it is contacted with adhesive coated corrugations of single faced board 8, 19. In a preferred embodiment, the corrugated ply may be of plastics material.
