Abstract

1,156,143. Coated adhesive sheet. COURTAULDS Ltd. 17 Nov., 1966 [18 Nov., 1965], No.48999/65. Heading B2E. [Also in Division B5] An adhesive sheet comprises an open-work fabric of which the strands are coated with a mixture having a melting point of at most 160‹C. of a plasticiser with a copolyamide soluble in a mixture of 90 parts by weight of methane and 10 parts of water. Specified fabrics are muslin, light-weightfabrics, knitted materials and scrim. Specified polyamides are nylon 6/66, nylon 6/11 and nylon 66/11. Specified plasticisers are o- and p-toluene sulphonamide, N-methyibenzene sulphonamide and N-bu2y1benzene sulphonamide. The mixture is applied from aqueous alcoholic solutions by brushing, dipping, padding or spraying, the solvent then being allowed to evaporate.
