A synthetic plastic spacer for accommodating concrete reinforcing rods of different diameters has a saddle defined by a pair of outwardly flared arms 16 having a pair of inwardly-directed nose members 19 and a pair of inwardly-directed fingers 18, the clearance between the members 18 being less than that between the members 19. The base of the spacer consists of a pair of legs 9 interconnected by a web 7 having reinforcing shoulders 10.
