Abstract

1,155,487. Pneumatic conveyers. H. TRUTZ- ' SCHLER and H. TRUTZSCHLER. 25 Aug., 1967 [3 Sept., 1966], No. 39156/67. Heading B8A. In a pneumatic feed system for delivering cotton fibres from a container 1 through a radial fan 7 and a branched pipeline 8 to feed shafts 9 associated with cards 10, the pressure increase produced when the cotton fibres in the shafts cover air outlets 12 actuates a device 14 to cut off the motor 4 driving feed rollers 2, 3. When one of the shafts has been emptied again by its delivery roller 11 sufficiently to allow air to escape at a sufficient rate from the outlet 12, the device 14 re-starts the motor 4. The motor 4 can alternatively be controlled by photo-electric cells 15 such that the motor is cut off when all the shafts are filled to the level of the cells.
