Abstract

1,154,996. Folding and cutting paper. LEIPZIGER BUCHBINDEREIMASCHINENWERKE, VEB. 23 Feb., 1968, No. 8843/68. Heading B8R. A double sheet folding machine comprises a feeder 1 which feeds a sheet to a rotary knife folder 3, below which is a rotary longitudinal cutter 4 which cuts the sheet into parts, which are aligned with an edge of the left-hand sheet against a draw mark 5. The right and left sheets are then fed along transport paths 6, 8, 10 and 6<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>1</SP> to buckling folders 7, 9, 11 and 7<SP>1</SP>, 9<SP>1</SP>, 11<SP>1</SP> respectively. Various modifications are described (Figs. 2-8, not shown). One of the paths may be on the other side of the folder 3, from which the sheet concerned is directed to the right. In the case of each path, a sheet turning mechanism may be introduced before the first buckling folder to reverse the orientation of the sheet. In all cases, the sheets reach the first buckling folder with their cut edges or their abutment edges, at right angles to their front edges, leading.
