A radiator grille has flanged horizontal slats 10 held in spaced relation by sheet metal members 11. Gaps 13 in one flange 12 of each slat enable the slats to be engaged with L- shaped slots in the member 11 and after slight lateral displacement the fluted parts 19 are straightened to secure the parts together. The adjacent edges of the L-shaped slots may be peened to grip the slats.
