Abstract
1,152,194. Ejectors. BERTIN & CIE. July 21, 1966 [July 22, 1965], No.32910/66. Heading F1E. In an ejector, in which inducing fluid is supplied to a slot-shaped nozzle 2a through a duct or ducts each of which includes a neck 8a in which the fluid speed is close to the speed of sound, the inducing fluid flow-rate remains substantially constant even if the nozzle cross-section is substantially increased by erosion. The gaseous inducing fluid is supplied via duct 6, annular chamber 7, tubes 8,10 to nozzles 2a, 3a and 4a. Annular curtains of gas issuing from the nozzles entrain the induced fluid in the direction of the arrow F. If the nozzles area is increased by erosion the constricted portions 8a, 9a and 10a, which are dimensioned to secure a flow-rate slightly below the speed of sound, simultaneously restrict the flow-rate through the nozzles.
