Abstract

1,152,082. Suspending curtains. S. SILVESTRE. 7 June, 1966, No. 25242/66. Headings A4B and A4S. The gathers formed when eyeletted apertures 3, 4, 5 and 6 at the top of a curtain are slidably engaged by a curtain rod 7 are prevented from opening beyond a pre-arranged limit by a flexible connecting strip a stitched to the curtain or detachably secured thereto by snap fasteners or buttons c and button holes b. The strip has a series of fastening elements so that the spacing of the fastened parts is adjustable. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) the near sides of alternate pairs of adjacent eyelets are connected by an apertured tongue, integral with one eyelet of each pair and engaging a projection on the other, a projection being provided on the tongue, or on a clip movable along the tongue, which is detachably engaged in an aperture in a connecting strip. In a further modification, shown in Fig. 11, each eyelet has a tongue 22 and the tongues at remote sides of adjacent pairs of eyelets are deteachably fastened together. One end of the connecting strip may be secured to a wall, door, window &c. or to a curtainactuating cord.
