Abstract

1,151,935. Boxes; container closures. CARBORUNDUM CO. 12 Aug., 1966 [19 Aug., 1965], No. 36125/66. Headings B8P and B8T. A box particularly for abrasive discs comprises a tubular body 4 closed by a base 6 and lid 20, all three of which members are moistureimpervious. The tubular body 4 is made of a laminate comprising inner and outer fibrous layers, e.g. of jute paper and kraft paper respectively, enclosing an impervious metal foil layer, e.g. of aluminium foil. A channel around the periphery of the base 6, which may be of metal, receives the end of the tube. The lid 20, also of metal, engages with a push-fit on to the top of the tube 4, and is provided with a recessed rim 22 corresponding in shape to the base to facilitate stacking. A strip of tape may secure the lid to the tube.
