Abstract

1,151,408. Toothed gearing. ALLIS-CHALMERS MFG. CO. 2 Aug., 1967 [8 Aug., 1966], No.35555/67. Heading F2Q. A cylindrical shell assembly 3 is rotatably mounted by ride rings 4, 5 supported on rollers 6, 7 and is driven by sprockets 40, 41 engaging endless roller chains 21, 21a secured to the periphery of the shell assembly 3. Each chain comprises pairs of inside links 23 bolted by bolts 31 to respective flanges 20, 30a secured to the shell assembly 3, and outside links 24 pivotally connected to the inside links 23 by pins 25 on which rollers 26 are mounted. The sprockets 40, 41 are keyed to a shaft 37 which is driven by a motor 35 and constitutes a driving assembly 34. A similar driving assembly 34a is also provided.
