Abstract

1,151,261. Milling cutter. T. KURIM. 16 June, 1966 [7 July, 1965], No. 26836/66. Heading B3K. A face milling cutter comprises a series of cutter blades equiangularly spaced around and detachably secured to the circumference of the cutter body, said blades including two or more finishing blades 1, 2 with a plurality of roughing blades 3 ... 7 disposed between the finishing blades. The roughing cutters of each group have their cutting edges set at different radial distances from the cutter axis. The first roughing cutter 12 of the next group is set at the same radial distance as the first roughing cutter 3 of the preceding group and the edges of the roughing cutters of a group lie on an Archimedean spiral so that at a designed traversing feed speed the loading of all the roughing cutter blades of the milling cutter is identical. The cutter blades may be provided with exchangeable cutting tips.
