Type assembly having an adjustable type head 24 comprises a support 12 provided with a flat, rectangular base 14 which carries releasably a clip 30 supporting a rigidly attached type face 26. Clip 30 is provided with depending spring fingers 32 having detents 34 which engage firmly the undersurface of base 14 to hold the typehead 24 in any one of adjusted positions with respect to sides 18, 20 of the base 24.
