Abstract

1,151,100. Screen-stencilling on curved surfaces. L. G. DUBUIT. 12 April, 1967 [22 April, 1966], No. 16806/67. Heading B6C. A silk-screen apparatus for printing in succession on the two large lateral faces of a substantially oval cross-sectioned object comprises basically the apparatus disclosed in Specification 1,062,862 with the added feature that the transfer device for carrying the object between the two respective printing stations, follows a course, in the neighbourhood of the rotary device of each station, which is tangential to the path of an object carried by the rotary device immediately before gripping or after releasing by the transfer device. Fig. 1 illustrates the rotary devices 50, 50<SP>1</SP> of each printing station, and a transfer device comprising a fork 90 carried on a lever 91 which forms part of a parallelogram linkage which is reciprocable in a curved path under the action of an oscillating pinion 101 driven off the main control cam-shaft 36; the fork may be provided with a suction nozzle 120 for reception of the objects. After release from the rotary device 50<SP>1</SP> of the second printing station, the objects are deposited on a continuously driven drying chain 110 which is completely separate from the step-by-step advanced initial supply chain 54.
