Abstract
1,151,055. Electric connectors. GENERAL ELECTRIC & ENGLISH ELECTRIC COMPANIES Ltd. 5 March, 1968 [5 Dec., 1966], No. 54344/66. Heading H2E. [Also in Division H4] An electric connector 2, Fig. 2, for connection between a two-wire telephone line (not shown) and a three-line telephone receiver cable 4 comprises three pairs of terminals 13 and 14, 15 and 16, 17 and 18, connected together with metal strips 19. The three first terminals 14, 16, 18 are connected to the wires of the three-wire cable 4 and two of the second terminals 13 and 17 connected to a three-terminal attenuator 25. The remaining attenuator terminal 35 and the terminal 15 are connected to the two telephoneline wires. The attenuator, Fig. 4, comprises three resistors 30 in a T-network and is secured only by its connections to the terminals, so as to be readily replaceable. In an example, the series arm resistors may be 30 ohms and the shunt resistors 1300 ohms. Further receivers may be connected in parallel from terminals 14, 16 and 18.
