Abstract

115,096. Honegger, G. April 26, 1917. Cam gears.-A single-cylinder pump is provided with an expansion valve-gear comprising a tappetcontrolled eccentric 8 which engages a cam-groove 14 in a sleeve 21 surrounding a piston tail-rod and connected, by an arm 13<a>, through which it slides, to an oscillating distributing-valve 13. The eccentric 8 is carried hy a pin 5 mounted in the tail-rod and to which is secured a rocker lever 10 which engages a groove in the sleeve and tappet surfaces 11 in connexion therewith. In operation, the eccentric first, engages a projection in the groove 14 to effect the cut off, and finally another projection to effect the reversal of the stroke. At the end of the stroke, an additional movement is impacted to the sleeve by a tappet. 11 engaging the lever 10 and rotating the eccentric, The cutoff may be similarly effected by the combination of two movements.
