Valves; valve-gear.-In an engine provided with a sleeve valve D sliding between the piston C and cylinder A and a rotary valve F arranged outside the cylinder, these valves controlling the same port I in the cylinder but the sleeve valve acting only during high-pressure strokes and the rotary valve during low-pressure strokes, the valve F is driven by gearing from the crank-shaft and actuates the valve D through an eccentric M and pitman rod N.
