Abstract

1,150,102. Doors resisting fluid pressure. WILMOT CASTLE CO. 27 May, 1966 [9 June, 1965], No.23832/66. Heading F2P. A door 11 for closing and sealing a pressure vessel 10 is slidably supported on rollers 24 and, when in the closed position, is prevented from outward movement by means arranged on all its edges. Sealing is effected by an inflatable seal 42. The rollers are mounted as shown in Fig. 3 on shanks 27 mounted on brackets 22 which project from a flange 16 extending around the vessel, the flange having extensions 20. 21. The flanges 24 of the rollers provide the means for preventing outward movement of the upper and lower edges of the door. In its closed position the left-hand side of the door engages behind flanges of brackets 34 connected to flange 16, and the right-hand side carries stop elements 38 constructed to embrace the flange 16. The seal is supplied with fluid from a pressure source 48.
