Abstract

1,149,740. Texturing apparatus. UNIROYAL, Inc. 13 March, 1967 [31 March, 1966], No. 11605/67. Heading D1F. Texturing apparatus of the type disclosed in Figure 1 of Specification 1,044,697 and in which a jet of hot air hurls yarn into a packing chamber formed at the nip of a pair of spaced rolls, the rolls having cavities formed in their peripheral surfaces sufficiently deeply for yarn segments to rest therein, and one roll having flanges which fit over the edge of the other roll at the nip and holes in the flanges through which the hot air escapes, is modified in that only one of the rolls must have the cavities, and that at least one of the flanges has on its inner surface a manifold groove from which the holes extend and which is covered by a screen. The or each screen comprises an annular disc having an outer lip bent over the periphery of the flange and held thereon by a ring press-fitted over the lip.
