Abstract

1,149,555. Heat-insulated pipes. A. MEIERSCHENK. 2 Sept., 1966 [2 Sept., 1965], No. 39255/66. Heading F2P. A sheet 1 of metal or plastics material forming the casing for the heat-insulation 7, 8 of a pipe 6 is provided along one longitudinal edge thereof with a tape 3 adhesive on both sides and the non-adhering side having a cover strip 4. The sheet is wrapped around the insulation so that the tape and covering strip are overlapped and the strip is then removed through the gap 10 between the overlying portions of the sheet so that those portions may be bonded together. The sheet may be preformed and be temporarily secured by string 9. The bonded joint may be protected by a covering strip.
