Abstract

The connection is between inner pipes (1) surrounded by an insulating layer (2), itself covered by an outer pipe (3). The insulating layers and outer pipes are cut back from the ends of the inner pipes to be connected. Each end of the insulating layer is closed off by a collar (4). The collars are of U-section whose open side faces away from the insulation. The outer flange (7) of each collar lies at the inside of the outer pipe and is extended (7') to also embrace the outside of that pipe.
