Abstract
1,149,420. Nuclear fuel. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. 29 Dec., 1967 [13 Jan., 1967], No. 59151/67. Heading G6C. [Also in Division C7] A uranium alloy, for making CO 2 gas-cooled nuclear reactor fuel elements, comprises:- the balance being uranium. The cast alloy is preferably cooled between 750‹ and 475‹ C. at a rate of 5-20‹ C./min. The alloy may be solution annealed in the gamma phase at over 750‹ C., step hardened at 490-590‹ C., cooled to room temperature and aged between 450‹ and 600‹ C.
