Abstract
1,149,279. Gear pumps and motors. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. July 25, 1966 [Aug.10, 1965], No.33313/61. Heading F1F. To lubricate the bearings of a gear pump or motor, the bearing bodies 12, 13 Fig. 1, in which the shafts 16, 17 carrying the intermeshing gears 15, 14 are journalled are formed with longitudinal grooves 36.. 39 and annular grooves 32.. 35 surrounding the bores adjacent the gears which are connected by passages 41, 41', Fig. 2, with the lowpressure side 31 of the pump or motor and the shafts 16, 17 remote from the gears are formed with or carry vane like members 45, Fig. 4, to induce lubricant through the longitudinal grooves 36.. 39 and return it through additional passages 43, 43' to the low-pressure side 31. The lubricant being constantly drawn from the low-pressure side is filtered and cool and consequently keeps the bearings cool and free of abrasive material. The vane-like members may be of metal or plastics material. Alternatively the vanes may be milled on the two shafts.
