Abstract

1,149,264. Winding stators. ELEKTROMAT VEB. 14 May, 1966, No. 21520/66. Heading B3A. A coil supporting assembly used in winding a stator 13 comprises a series of coil holders 2 pivoted to a sleeve 1 which surrounds the stator and supplementary holders 3, 9. The holders 3 are detachably fitted on to opposed holders 2 and have a dividing web 4. The web is provided with extensions (5), Fig. 5 (not shown), and a notch (8) on the central extension engages a spring wire (7) to permit removal of the web. The supplementary holders 9 are detachably retained in selected holders 2 by a spring-loaded ball (10), Fig. 3 (not shown). The holders are used to support the coils in three planes at each end of the stator so that the conductor length in each turn of each coil is the same. The holders are removed after winding by grippers. The webs 4 are removed first, then the holders 9 and finally the holders 3 after which the holders 2 are pivoted away from the end turns.
