Abstract
1,148,986. Hydroponics. WALLCO A.B. 30 Sept., 1966 [1 Oct., 1965], No. 43873/66. Addition to 1,138,318. Heading C1B. In a system of hydroponics with recycling of the aqueous nutrient, the pH and conductivity of the nutrient are continuously measured and variations from a pH of 3-8 and a conductivity of 20-2000Á ohm<SP>-1</SP>cm.<SP>-1</SP> cause addition of a corresponding replacement stream. Replacement streams may be supplied to a holding tank from three supply tanks, equal quantities being supplied from the first and third in response to change in pH and equal quantities being supplied from the second and third in response to change in conductivity. The first tank contains ammonia, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and potassium sulphate; the second contains ammonium nitrate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and potassium sulphate; and the third contains potassium nitrate, ammonium nitrate, nitrid acid, magnesium nitrate, calcium nitrate, and compounds of trace elements. The trace elements are iron, manganese, zinc, boron, copper, and molybdenum. The water level in the holding tank is maintained by the addition of de-ionized water. The nutrient contains elements in the proportions specified in the parent Specification.
