Abstract

1,148,873. Blocked polyisocyanate derivatives. LANTOR Ltd. 18 May, 1966 [9 March, 1965], No. 9853/65. Heading C3R. [Also in Division D1] In Example 1 a polyester is made by condensing glycerol, adipic acid and ethylene glycol or by reacting castor oil and citric acid, see Example 4. The polyester is dissolved in a solution of a polyisocyanate/phenol adduct and #- diethylaminoethanol in propylene carbonate. The resulting solution is applied to fibres and heated to 180‹ C. to decompose the adduct which then reacts with the polyester. In Example 2 a solution of oxypropylate triethanolamine and a polyisocyanate/cresol adduct in propylene carbonate (or N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone, see Example 6), is applied to fibres and heated to 160‹ C. In Example 3 a polyester, made by condensing hexanetriol with adipic acid and phthalic anhydride, N,N-dimethylcyclohexylamine and a polyisocyanate/phenol adduct is dissolved in propylene carbonate (or butyrolactone, see Example 7). The solution is applied to fibres and heated to 170‹ C. to react the polyester and decomposed adduct.
