1,146,269. Extendable platform on a vehicle. FEDERATED DEPARTMENT STORES Inc. 20 Feb., 1968, No. 8201/68. Heading B8E. A truck or trailer 10 has openings 13 provided with rolling doors 15 to provide access to transport racks 20, having wheels 30 which are moved in channels 28 to introduce the racks as units into the truck, and which are secured in loaded position by locking pins passing through the base of the racks into sockets in the channels 28. Ramps or platforms 25 slide from stowed positions between the racks and the truck floor 32, guided in members 45, to an extended position supported by the channels 28 and by brackets 29 in which they provide a standing position to enable the upper shelves of the racks to be unloaded.
