Abstract

1,146,026. Mixing air and gas. AMERICAN BOSCH ARMA CORP. July 7, 1966 [March 30, 1966], No.30548/66. Heading F1B. In a gaseous feed carburetter, a suction actuated valve 60 in the air passage carries a fuel metering valve 104 in the fuel supply passage 48, the fuel flowing into the interior of the valve 60 and escaping into the air stream through peripheral ports 80. The valve 60 is loaded by a spring 114 and is attached to a flexible bellows 58 which damps oscillations and delays the opening and closing of the valve upon throttle valve movement to produce rich and lean mixtures respectively for acceleration and deceleration. The gas passage 48 is sealed, when valve 60 is closed, by a gasket 110. Back-fire relief ports 82 in the valve 60 are normally closed by a resilient flap 46.
