Abstract

1,145,588. Automatic circuit breakers. SQUARE D. CO. 9 Aug., 1967 [30 Sept., 1966], No. 36482/67. Heading H1N. An automatic circuit breaker is provided with tripping electromagnets 176 in each pole, all three armatures 174 being simultaneously adjustable to set the tripping current by means of an arcuate member 180. The armature 174 of the centre pole is acted upon by a lever 184 carrying the member 180 while the other armatures 174 are acted upon by levers 188 coupled to lever 184 by a cross bar 186. The levers 184, 188 act through individual adjusting screws 190. The armatures 174 and bimetals 146 act on a common trip bar 150 carrying a roller latch 156 to release a main latch 102 and thus a trip lever 90 which releases the overcentre toggle linkage in the usual manner.
