Abstract

1,145,551. Lamp caps. FABRIQUES REUNIES DE LAMPES ELECTRIQUES (SOC. ANON.). 23 June, 1966 [23 June, 1965], No. 28177/66. Heading H2E. An electric incandescent or discharge lamp 10 having a pinch 14 from which projects a current-supply wire 28 is provided with a current-supply member 22 having a channelshaped portion 23b which is fitted on an edge of the pinch which extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of the lamp, the member having also a part which is constructed to serve as a cooling fin and comprises a first portion 23 which extends along and is connected to the channel portion and a second portion 25 which extends adjacent to the surface of the pinch from which the current supply wire projects, the supply wire being connected to the second portion. As illustrated the lamp has two supply wires and is provided with two current supply members 22, 23 on the two side edges of the pinch. A lamp with a triangular or other polygonal pinch may have a supply member fitted on each edge. The invention may also be applied to each end of a double-ended lamp, Fig. 5 (not shown), where only a single supply member is required on each pinch. The two parts 24, 25 of the supply member may be in the same plane, as in Fig. 1, or in planes at right angles, Fig. 4 (not shown). In Fig. 1 the supply members are shown provided with apertures 30, 31 and a recess 32 for co-operation with pins in an associated lamp holder.
