[Also in Division F1] A lubricator comprises a multiple-pumping set having a central driven gear-wheel meshing with a number of smaller gear-wheels to form the same number of gear-pumps, the latter being supplied with pressurized lubricant by means of a gear-pump which comprises two gear-wheels of different pitch circle diameters, the gear-wheels also forming an input reduction gearing for transmitting a drive to the central gear-wheel of the pumping set. The pressure of the lubricant supplied to the set may be maintained constant by means of a valve. In an embodiment, a multiple-pumping set 1 comprises a central gear-wheel 2 which meshes with a number of smaller gear-wheels 3. The set 1 is supplied with pressurized-lubricant by a gear pump 4, having a gear-wheel 6 mounted on a shaft 7 of the central gear-wheel 2 and a smaller gear-wheel 5 driven by an electric motor 8 through a shaft 9. In use, the pump 4 draws lubricant 10 from a reservoir 11 through a pipe 12 having a strainer-foot 20 and delivers it into a pipe 13 which supplies an annular channel 14 surrounding the set 1. The pump 4 supplies a quantity of lubricant which is in excess of that delivered to branches 15 by the set 1 and the inlet-pressure of the lubricant to the set is maintained constant by a valve 17 in a by-pass 16. The surplus lubricant may be returned to the reservoir 1 via a pipe 18. A lubricant-filter 19 may be incorporated in the pipe 13.
