The piston and cylinder assembly of the parent Specification is replaced by two pistons 13, 14 operating in a single cylinder 12, Fig. 1, or in separate coaxial cylinders (31, 32), Fig. 2 (not shown). The ends of the piston-rods 15, 16, Fig. 1, or (35, 36), Fig. 2 (not shown), are pivotally connected to a pressure plate 2 through scissor linkage 3. Fluid is supplied to the remote ends of the cylinder 1 for the compression stroke and to the middle of the cylinder for the retraction stroke.
