Abstract

1,144,490. Electric cooking stoves. ELECTRO-CHAR CORP. 4 Aug., 1966, No. 34947/66. Heading F4W. [Also in Division H5] An electric cooking unit similar to that of Specification 865,375 has a cooking grate 35 comprising a plurality of replaceable sections 36, Fig. 6 (not shown), (see also Division H3), the grate being tiltable upwardly for cleaning and servicing. A conventional broiling element 100 is located below grate 35 and has a drip shield 107, a tray 120, Fig. 5 (not shown), with a handle 122 being slid into and out of the stove through access opening 16. Overhead broiling of food on grate 35 is speeded up by an overhead unit 151 added on top of the lower unit 150 described above, the unit 151 having a pair of grate sections 136 which are raised or lowered by turning crank handles 181. Food in pots can be placed upon the upper surfaces of sections 136 when they are in their lower position.
