Abstract

1,144,232. Regulating fluid flow. H. ERNST. Aug. 23, 1966 [Aug. 23, 1965; Sept. 24, 1965], No. 37828/66. Heading G3H. Apparatus controlling the flow of fluent material having magnetic properties, comprises a magnet movable relatively to a flow duct to vary the magnetic field in the duct to control the flow of the material. The magnet may be moved by a solenoid or by a crank-shaft and in the latter case two magnets may be moved alternately to provide an intermittent flow. When the material is of an oily nature, the duct may contain a sleeve inset to prevent the material sliding when the magnet is in the position to stop flow.
