Abstract

114,305. Arzano, C., and Clerici, G. March 19, 1917, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Iron, obtaining.-Soft iron is obtained directly from an electrolyte containing an addition of organic or inorganic aluminium salts. A suitable solution contains 42 parts of ferrous sulphate, 50 parts of aluminium chloride, and water to bring the solution to a density of 30‹ Be. This solution is maintained at 100-105‹ C. during electrolysis. Depolarizers, and annealing of the deposited iron, are unnecessary.
