An alloy steel has the following percentage composition:- the total content of Cr, Co and Mo is 33-42, and Co and Ni contents are between 10 and 16 and are approximately equal. The alloy may also include: W up to 2, Mn up to 2, Al up to 0À5, N up to 0À2, Al + N up to 0À6, B up to 0À025, Nb + Ta up to 1. It may be solution treated at 1950-2125‹ F., quenched and aged at 950-1400‹ F.
