Abstract

114,214. Gibson, W. April 4, 1917. Spindle apparatus.-In apparatus for the wet or dry opening &c. of flax or cotton &c., of the kind in which a loose ring f rolls eccentrically under the action of the yarn in an annular groove c<1> in a fixed ring c<4>, Fig. 3, or builder plate c, Figs. 1 and 4, the loose ring and groove are so proportioned that the thread passes to the bobbin without negotiating any confined passage or corners between or on the rings and plate, and catching of the thread in the threading slit c<2> is thus avoided. An anti-ballooning extension h of the plate or fixed ring may be provided. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 14977/96 and 984/10.
