Plug cocks; leakage, preventing; casings; spindles.-A fluid-tight plug cock without packings comprises a casing a closed at the smaller end of the plug f, a stem h separate therefrom, and an interposed spring r which keeps the.plug to its seating and a rotary jointing-collar i in close contact with the conical recess j in the cover d. The plug and stem are slotted to receive the projections n, o formed on a loose connecting-piece m in the manner of an Oldham coupling. The cover d is screwed on the casing and is retained by an elastic split ring p disposed in a groove, as shown, and having a bent end which passes through a hole in the cover and engages a corresponding recess in the casing.
