Abstract

1,140,712. Mineral-milling machine. WEBSTER MACHINE DEVELOPMENT Ltd. 11 Nov., 1966 [18 Nov., 1965], No. 48967/65. Heading E1F. In a longwall mining machine of the type having a vertically disposed cutter drum 2 at either end of the machine, which is shown in plan view, the drum drives-containing and drum-support frame 11 A, 11B of the machine is so mounted on a support 12 guidable along a face conveyer to 'be 'associated with the machine in use of the machine that the frame will then lie wholly to the face side of the conveyor. The frame 11A, 11B is of two part construction with the parts 11A, 11B vertically pivotable about a pin 13 on the support 12 by jacks pivoted between the parts and floor supported extensions of the body cif the .supply 12, extensions terminating adjacent the drums. The support 12 may engage only the face or the gob side of the conveyer or may engage or be supported by both sides of the conveyer.
