Abstract

1,139,773. Pipe joints. WAVIN N. V 29 March, 1966 [30 March, 1965], No. 13901/66. Heading F2G. The free end of a socket 1 for the reception of a tube 2 is formed with an external, annular collar 6, which may be wedge-shaped in crosssection and have a radially extending shoulder, and a flexible elastic ring 5 for connecting the socket and tube has a cylindrical wall 9 formed interiorly thereof with a recess 7 complementary to the collar and a radially extending, inward lip terminating at the inner end thereof in an annular rim 10. The wall 9 is fitted over the collar and held in position by the resilience of the ring, the rim 10 engaging as a sealing fit with the tube 2 and allowing relative movement of the tube relative to the socket; the internal diameter of the rim 10 is less than that of the socket and greater than the external diameter of the tube. The socket may be formed on a T-piece the axis of the major portion of the main branch being offset from the axes of the sockets, Fig. 4 (not shown).
