Abstract
1,139,532. Cd carbonate-sulphide or -selenide. FUJI SHASHIN FILM K.K. 3 Aug., 1966 [4 Aug., 1965], No. 34813/66. Heading C1A. [Also in Division H1] A particulate photo-conductive material is made by reacting cadmium ions with carbonate ions and sulphide ions, hydrogen sulphide, selenide ions, hydrogen selenide or mixtures thereof to give a precipitate and calcining or firing the precipitate. Cadmium halide, sulphate or nitrate may be used whilst sodium, potassium or ammonium carbonate, sodium or ammonium sulphide and sodium selenide may be sources of carbonate, sulphide and selenide ions. A solution containing carbonate and sulphide may be added to a cadmium containing solution, alternatively CdCO 3 may be prepared and the sulphide and/or selenide added thereto. The calcining or firing step may be in air, oxygen or an inert gas at 200 C.
