Abstract

Washers.-A gas washing and cooling device is constructed with a divided or plain dip-pipe 5 from which the gas bubbles into water and passes into a chamber 3 arranged to dip also into the water in an outer chamber. From the chamber 3 the gas passes through an opening 4 near which a cooling sprayer 6 is arranged, and the gas passes into contact with scrubbers formed as angleshaped strips 2 attached to the outer chamber between which and the chamber 3 the gas passes on its way to an outlet 7. The gas impinges on baffles 16, 17 on its way to the outlet, and a splash-plate 8 is arranged to prevent the liquid from the outer vessel from reaching the outlet, and the vessel 1 is provided with a liquid feeding and overflow device.
