Abstract

1,138,827. Copolymer compositions. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 1 June, 1966 [18 Aug., 1965], No. 24410/66. Heading C3P. Compositions comprise a blend of a costereosymmetric copolymer of α-olefinically unsaturated hydrocarbons in admixture with a copolymer of ethylene with an α-olefinically unsaturated hydrocarbon. The co-stereosymmetric copolymer may be a copolymer of an α-olefin containing 3 to 20 carbon atoms, e.g. propylene, with an α-olefin containing 4 to 20 carbon atoms. The compositions may also comprise conventional stabilizers, plasticizers, lubricants and colouring agents, and may be moulded into films, pipes and bottles. Examples describe compositions stabilized with dilauryl thiodipropionate and dioctadecyl-pcresol and comprising (1) copolymers of ethylene with propylene or butene-1 and co-stereosymmetric propylene/butene-1 copolymers; and ethylene/propylene copolymers and (3, 4 and 6) co-stereosymmetric propylene/butene-1 copolymers, (2) co-stereosymmetric copolymers of propylene with butene-1, pentene-1, hexene-1 or 4-methylpentene-1, and (5) co-stereosymmetric copolymers of butene-1 and 4-methylpentene-1, 4-methylpentene-1 and hexene-1, or or propylene and dodecene-1.
