1,138,720. Mixing apparatus. E. W. MULCAHY. 2 March, 1967, No. 33966/68. Divided out of 1133653. Heading B1C. Sodium hydroxide is supplied to a mixing tank 52 by an injector 54 the water supply to which is controlled by a float-switch 62. Mixture in the tank is circulated by an air-lift pump 57 and deflector 60, and is discharged to a neutralizing pit 66 by a second aid-lift pump 63 under control of a pH unit 67 which senses the pit acidity. The pit contents are agitated by air jets from a pipe 74.
