Abstract

1,137,453. Masthead lights for ships. J. K. ROOSEVELT. 23 June, 1967 [24 June, 1966], No. 29065/67. Heading F4R. A mounting for running lights on the masthead of a vessel consists of a frame open at the front and sides within which is a light visible forward and to both sides. A spacing sleeve 11 may be secured to the top of the mast 12 and carries a C-shaped bracket 10 on top of which is mounted a second spacing sleeve 13 coaxial with the sleeve 11. Light holders 14, 14<SP>1</SP> for the lamps 19 are fixed to the top of the sleeve 13 and to the bottom of the bracket 20 respectively. Wings 21 are provided on the holders so as to limit the light to an arc of 225 degrees. The sleeves 11, 13 may be omitted, the bracket 10 being then mounted direct on the mast 12 and the holder 14 on the top of the bracket.
