The outer hull 140 of a ship is provided with a blister wall 142 and a pressurized reinforced rubber envelope 144 of cellular construction to resist blast effects of an atomic explosion. The body of a vehicle such as a personnel carrier or truck may likewise be provided with a protective envelope for fuller details of which the Specification should be referred to.
