Abstract

1,136,782. Transferring sliver cans between machines. INSTITUT FUR TEXTILMASCHINEN. 23 May, 1966, No. 22894/66. Heading D1F. While sliver is fed to a processing machine 2 from at least two rows 31, 32 of cans, a reserve row 10a of cans filled with sliver from machine 1 is formed behind row 32, and when the cans in row 31 are emptied the reserve row 10a is pushed forward and thus pushes the cans in row 31 on to track 5a from whence the cans are returned to the sliver filling position 10. Can track 5a is at a higher level than can track 4b while can tracks 6 and 7 are inclined. A pusher 22 is secured to nut 23 on threaded spindle 24 which can be rotated by motor 25 to cause the pusher to move the cans in rows 10a, 32 and 31 one row forwards. Pivoted bolts are provided to hold the cans in row 32 on the inclined slope. Empty cans on track 5a are pushed down track 7 by means of pusher 26 moved by motor 29 through nut 27 and spindle 28. A can is moved from a reserve position 9 into the filling position by pusher 8 operated by crank 12, and held in the filling position by spring pressed rollers 42, 43 and roller 44. A filled can, after it has been pushed out of the filling position by an incoming can, is pushed onto the inclined slope 6 by rod 16 pivoted by cam 18 through transmission 19 and bevel wheel assembly 17.
