Abstract

1,135,922. Work- and tool-holders. VSESOYUZNY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTRUMENTALNY INSTITUT. 12 Jan., 1966, No. 1417/66. Headings B3B, B3K, B3L and B3T. A work- or tool-holder incorporates an intermediate insulating layer to prevent any flow of electric current from the held member to its mounting in a machine. A lathe turret, Fig. 1, is mounted by bushes 2, 3 and a plate 6 which are insulated from the tools 4 by a layer a of synthetic rubber cement. A socket 10, Fig. 3, is cemented in a holder 9 and can be inserted in a socket 12, Fig. 4, cemented in a spindle nose 11. A milling cutter 26, Fig. 5, is secured on an arbor 21 mounted in a spindle 20 by an insulated socket 13, 14 and retained by a draw-bolt 22 passing through an insulated composite washer 18, 19. The arbor is also supported by an overarm 25 having an insulated composite bush 15, 17. A lathe spindle 27, Fig. 6, has insulated sockets 28, 29 for.a chuck, face-plate or centre and is used with a tailstock centre support 30, Fig. 7. In a broaching machine, the work 34, Fig. 8, is supported on an insulated platform 33.
