Abstract

1,135,891. Industrial trucks. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. 23 Feb., 1966 [11 March, 1965], No. 7922/66. Heading B7H. [Also in Division B8] A load lifting and carrying vehicle comprises rear wheels 18 mounted at one end of a frame 14, front wheels 24 mounted on spaced support members 22 extending forwardly from the frame, and a lifting mast 26 horizontally displaceable on pairs of links 54, 56 having pivotal attachments 58, 60 to the mast 26 spaced a greater distance than pivotal attachments 62, 64 to the support members 22 whereby the mast 26 tilts rearwardly during movement from a forward lifting position to a rearward carrying position between the members 22. An hydraulic ram 70 displaces the mast 26 on the links 54, 56, and a ram 42 is connected by a chain 44 to forks 40 vertically displaceable on the mast. The rear wheels 18 are connected by longitudinal pivot means 20 to a rear frame section 12 displaceable about vertical pivot means 16 by hydraulic rams 72 to steer the vehicle. Individual hydrostatic motors 78, 80 drive the front wheels 24 through two-speed planetary reduction gearing 82, 84. Hydraulic pumps 88, 90 supply the rams and motors through a control valve 92.
